Fault tree analysis as a tool of safety analysis of submarine systems.

The need for a systematic study of the safety aspects in a submarine system increases as the level of complexity within the system rises. This paper gives information on the background to the FTA, the notation used at Kockums, the strategy and work involved in construction of fault trees. It also provides a limited example of an FTA.
