Samenvatting

Recent investigations of urban accidents indicate that a significant number are caused by faulty driver behaviour. Three new studies of drivers show that their behaviour patterns and knowledge concerning pedestrians are not adequate for safe driving. It is concluded that drivers do not take proper precautions regarding the safety of pedestrians and that there is little in their training regarding the rights of pedestrians and how to avoid pedestrian accidents.
