This paper presents findings from the Main Roads wildlife reflector trial. The findings from the trial revealed that wildlife reflectors do not appear to be effective in reducing road-kills of Macropod species. Ongoing research into the effectiveness of fauna movement structures such as underpasses, is also discussed. The results from Main Roads research will be an important contribution to "Fauna Sensitive Road Design: Volume 2 - Preferred Practices". The production of this second volume will involve extensive collaboration between several Australian state road authorities and draw on the results of relevant research. The Fauna Sensitive Road Design series represents an endeavour to incorporate scientific research into technical documentation, whilst retaining meaning and relevance to engineering practitioners.
