Samenvatting

The feasibility of developing a system to rate the headlamp performance of new vehicles which could be included in the USA New Car Assessment Program was investigated. The desirable characteristics of a headlamp rating system would include objectivity, robust validity, useful information about light output and glare, high beam performance, and ratings of suitability for individual drivers' needs. It is considered desirable to design a headlamp rating system that will be applicable to new lighting technologies. For the covering abstract see ITRD E123380.
