Samenvatting

Three vehicle crash tests have been conducted on a light-weight cellular concrete crash cushion. The concrete was composed of cement, water, and a commercial of vermiculite. This vermiculite aggregate was very uniform in gradation. The crash cushion is designed to protect motorists from collisions with reject obstacles location along the roadway. The extreme light weight of this aggregate in combination with a high degree of are entrainment produces a very lightweight, low-strength concrete.
