Samenvatting
A bicyclist not prepared to make a long detour when he is about to reach his destination. The planner has to be aware of this and he has to avoid situations where bicyclists are encouraged to take shortcuts trough public greens, pedestrian malls, etc. The article gives some results of a home interview in a town of 50.000 inhabitants. Trips length frequencies are compared between the whole town and one residential area. Examples of shortcuts are shown.
