A fine idea.

Samenvatting

Campaigners against the use of speed cameras in the UK say that they are a way of taxing motorists. These groups include Safe Speed and the Association of British Drivers (ABD). Other groups, such as Transport 2000, disagree and say that speed cameras save lives. Drivers caught speeding are fined #60 and incur three penalty points. Most police forces and local authorities have formed local partnerships to use money raised from camera fines to improve road safety. The views of different campaign groups on the association between speed convictions and deaths are outlined. It was concluded that overall figures suggest that speed cameras work and that they reduce speed and accident rates.
