Samenvatting

The status of head injury models, their applications and limitations are discussed. Although finite element models have replaced all earlier continuum models, there remain misconceptions regarding their use and accuracy. These misunderstandings are addressed and recent model critiques are responded. Trade-offs between cost and accuracy are explained.
