Samenvatting

The Finnish national intelligent transport system (ITS) architecture TelemArk is described. There are six main components: the architecture description including service process descriptions and logical architecture; the development plan (a step-by-step document showing how TelemArk should be used); the multimodal traffic data library (KALKATl); T9 web pages for monitoring of ITS standardisation work; a new freight ITS architecture (TARKKI), and the help desk function. The support offered by the help desk includes architecture training workshops and meetings when new pilot projects are launched and a standardisation monitoring activity that disseminates updated information and gives advice on existing standards. The KALKATI library is updated following feedback and the conclusions of pilot projects. The long-term aims of KALKATI are to create an information and data exchange system for Finland's transport sector. The Finnish architecture strategy is outlined.
