Samenvatting

The first international conference on Intelligent Speed Adaptation was held on 10 November 2009 in Sydney and hosted by the NSW Centre for Road Safety. The conference was attended by over 150 delegates including representatives from government, industry and research agencies attending to discuss the latest results from ISA trials conducted in Australia and around the world. Invited speakers from Europe spoke about the progress of implementing ISA and its associated systems overseas. Delegates also had the opportunity to view the NSW Centre for Road Safety demonstration vehicle at the Australasian Road Safety Research, Policing and Education Conference Exhibition. Intelligent Speed Adaptation (ISA) is a vehicle based technology that promises significant road safety and environmental benefits. An ISA equipped vehicle 'knows' the speed limit of a road.
