Samenvatting

This paper reports on a study examining the relationship between personality and involvement in vehicular accidents using the five-factor model. Female and male college students completed both the NEO Personality Inventory-R and measures of prior involvement in driving accidents. Results indicate that there are significant negative correlations between the factor of agreeableness and the total number of driving tickets received as well as the sum of combined at-fault accidents, not-at-fault accidents and driving tickets received by subjects.
