Samenvatting
The definition of fixtures in condemnation cases in Maryland is reviewed. The doctrines of trade fixtures and constructive annexation are reviewed. The Baltimore v. Himmel case made it clear that the effect of fixtures upon value of the whole property in condemnation is identical with the effect of any other permanent improvement on the land. Individual case histories are presented of condemnation cases in the following industries: ice house, stone yard, bakery, fish oil reduction plant and machine shop.
