Flow optimization with traffic safety constraints.

The introduction of safety criteria (depending on management) on the equilibrium traffic models (depending on users) is considered. Two typical traffic situations have been considered where it is necessary to take into account the safety. One consideration is safety distance between vehicles and the other is the acceleration limit used as vehicles enter the freeway.
