A framework for a social- psychological background theory to the use of interactional criteria in safety work.

This contribution focuses on the necessity, from the social scientific point of view, of the development of safety criteria other than accident data. Information about behaviour /interactions mediating danger potentials in road traffic has to be provided, what so far has not been done successfully relying on accident data, because of statistical and psychological shortcomings connected to the registration of accidents.
