Friction between tyre and road : theoretical and practical aspects = Reibung zwischen Reifen und Fahrbahn :Theorie und Praxis.

The principal steps of (a) tire-to-road friction measurement (b) comparison of measured values with established minimum friction requirements and (c) the skid proofing of surfaces are treated as a feedback control problem. The four components of friction due to (1) adhesion (2) deformation (3) tearing and (4) wear are briefly described. Abstract only.
