Samenvatting
During the years 1986-1990 a number of case-studies on shopping behaviour have been conducted in the Rotterdam-North-east/Capelle area. This report attempts to integrate the results of these case-studies. A distinction is made between buying daily necessities like supermarket articles, and semi-durables respectively. It is analyzed which considerations consumers have when they choose a shopping location, and which location they actually choose. Information is also collected on travel behaviour. Special attention is paid to the influence of car availability upon modal choice and to the shopping behaviour of the elderly.
