Samenvatting
The fundamental building block of transport models is based upon the ideaof people's behavioural decisions. This paper is the first of two papers which focus on the fundamentals of measuring and modelling people's behavioural decisions. The article discusses: the concept of utility; model types; stated and revealed preference, i.e. the decisions of individuals whichare used in the model; and model application methodologies.
