Samenvatting

On the basis of static and dynamic cadavers tests on the lateral parts of the body, a mathematical human being impact model, with or without arm and shoulder imposed, was developed. A complementary test programme with cadavers is necessary to improve the mathematical model response included in the Composite Test Procedure (CTP). Concerning the coupling between thorax and pelvis, and taking into account the spine rotation, a better modelling approach could be obtained by using a two-dimensional approach. The model and the cadaver data could be used as a tool in the design of an impact dummy.
