Future role of driver licensing in highway safety.

The papers in this Special Report were presented at the 52nd Annual Meeting of the Highway Research Board. The authors of the papers describe driver licensing from several viewpoints and discuss the past, present, and, most importantly, future roles of driver. Licensing in highway safety. Such research is admittedly costly in both time and money, however, and is likely to suggest licensing and testing procedures that will further increase the cost of administration.
