Samenvatting
Many urban driving conditions are known to contribute to lowering motor vehicle fuel economy. In this paper the relations between the various traffic variables and the reciprocal of the average speed are examined. The results demonstrate its usefulness as an estimator for U.S. conditions when average speeds are less than about 60 km/h.
