During considerable time the Dutch government has a policy aimed at the holding out of the quality of the living environment. Nevertheless the liveability has worsened considerably, in particular in pre-war residential areas, due to different processes. By means of a so called demonstration project is tried to determine which policy is the best. This research has to give an answer to the question in which way and in which amount the use and the experience of the public space change by the regrouping and rearranging of the urban area.
