Samenvatting
Referring to a simple model of driving behaviour, the traffic safety literature has been reviewed with respect to the determinants of behavioural effects of traffic signs. It is pointed out that the behavioural validity of a traffic sign depends on the confirmation of the sign message by information on every level of the driving task.
