Samenvatting
The noise emissions of 13 private cars of very different types were measured. The power output of the cars was between 34 KW/tonne and 126 KW/tonne; the sample included cars with manual gearboxes (both 4 and 5 speeds) and with automatic transmission. Noise emissions in urban traffic were measured and the engine speed and throttle settingregistered. The measurements were carried out in such away as to establish the influence of the driver and of the route.
