Samenvatting
This report concerns an investigation into the extent to which noise abatement can be achieved by measures taken in traffic circulation (measures at the source) . The possibilities of achieving this lie especially in a reduction of the traffic density and lowering the speed. Changes in the transverse road profile (distance) and paving of the road can likewise contribute towards noise abatement. A relationship has been established between the possible traffic measures taken within the built-up area and the opportunities of taking such measures on behalf of the different road categories: urban thoroughfares, district and neighbourhood access roads and residential streets.
