Samenvatting
The difficulties in the measurement of noise and the establishing of internationally accepted standards are briefly outlined. The generation of noise by motor vehicles is analyzed, and factors which have an effect upon the noise level are described. Methods to achieve reduction in noise and their effectiveness are discussed.
