An inventory is made of the measures intended to restrict traffic noise and of the noise levels occuring in certain situations; hypotheses were then made on the basis of the inventory. In addition it is investigated to what extent future designs may be influenced by the new restrictions on traffic noise laid down in a legislative proposal to serve as design criteria.
