Samenvatting
This paper describes the experience of the authors in generating GeoDemographic maps combined with transport system for business applications. The results covered in the paper relate to a few major cities of India. These maps were used for a variety of business applications like location of site, evaluation of sites and their catchments. In some cases the map product has been digitised and GIS approach applied to analyse areas of low, medium and high business potential. In the above studies, accessibility has been the main consideration. The paper analyses the relationship between the business activity and the road network, thus bringing out the importance of an intelligent transport system. (A*)
