Samenvatting

An analytical method for the design of automatically controlled vehicle guide ways is proposed. Equations describing the levels of discomfort for motions along horizontal and vertical curbs, including effects of super elevation, are presented. It is shown that the analytical approach which includes only the centripetal component of acceleration and jerk can lead to considerable error in measuring discomfort.
