Samenvatting
A literature review is made on the influence of commuting on health and not going to work because of illness. Besides some attention is paid to the possibilities of decreasing long journey times, in particular by governmental measures, like car pooling. Psychological stress can be caused by longer journey times due to traffic congestions and by less time for social activities.
