In October 2000 a project called G-SAM 2010 (GNSS based Services and Modules in 2010), which was funded by the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) was finished. G-SAM 2010 had carried out a pre-view on the mass market of transport telematics for the year 2010. The project team consisted of Telematica, Bosch and gedas telematics. Based on an inventory of currently available devices and services suggestions for improvements of these products were developed. Further on assumptions on expected developments of new products were made. Additionally considerations concerning price- and fee politics were also part of the study activities. These results of were used to define the requirements for the use of Galileo for future transport telematic applications.
