Samenvatting
During the last years the knowledge about the environment and the intention to save the environment, the energy and to prevent air pollution, sound pollution have increased. Besides traffic safety is still a main point. All together has led to traffic restraint measures in residential areas and town centres. Examples for Western Germany are presented for modifications in road networks, transverse profiles etc. to reach the wanted situations.
