This paper describes the guardrail tests conducted at the general motors proving ground since January 1959. Approximately 105 tests have been conducted since that time, including tests of improved end sections, chain link fence and cable type barriers, rail mounting and spacing from post, post strength, beam strength, special posts and mounting on superelevated curves.
