The `Handbook freight traffic in municipalities' is a guideline to predict effects on the freight traffic in case a municipality expands of changes infrastructure or the environmental planning (of business area). To be able to determine the freight traffic more precise a number of actions has been defined. By carrying out these actions the consequences of the changes of the environmental planning on the amount of freight traffic can be calculated as well in general as specifically. The explanation of the actions makes clear the opportunities (and restrictions) of this method and the minimum necessary data to be able to make the calculations. For specific utilisation in complex situations it is necessary to combine with complimentary methods.
