The hard core drinking driver revisited.

This paper provides a contemporary analysis of the problem of the hardcore drinking driver in Canada and the US. The hardcore drinking driver is defined as driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.15% or over. The authors concentrate in particular on fatally injured drivers. They examine the magnitude and characteristics of the problem and determine whether changes have occurred in recent years. The paper also considers the implications of these findings for programs and policies to deal effectively with the hardcore drinking driver.
