Hardcore drunk drivers are responsible for 68% of all drunk driving fatalities and are 380 times more likely to be involved in a crash. This monograph addresses the issues and challenges faced by prosecutors in handling cases again these hardcore offenders, encouraging a multidisciplinary approach in dealing with them while maintaining the integrity of impaired driving prosecutions, with the ultimate goal of preventing recidivism.
