Harmonization of European accident investigation systems : final report. Prepared for the Commission of the European Communities CEC, Directorate General for Transport DG VII.

This report describes the necessary steps of harmonisation and convergence of datasets to form a European in-depth injury database. It is intended as a reference for proposals submitted under the Fourth Framework Programme. It is based on the expert opinion of the authors who represent the two of the largest data collection systems in Europe. The views of regulators, other researchers, car manufacturers and insurance groups who advocate for safety have also been incorporated.
