Samenvatting

In general the hazards of falling over from lighting columns are not equal to the hazards of a collision with rigid columns. Tests have shown that lighting columns are falling mostly besides the traffic lane. In those cases that the lighting column falls on the cycle track besides the highway there is a hazard for cyclists and moped riders in particular in darkness. Another danger is if a falling column hits road users. Recommendations to decrease theses hazards are presented. This publication is the English version of B 11953 (IRRD 226904).
