Samenvatting

The injuries suffered by a sample of belt wearers in frontal impacts are described, and the results are discussed with special reference to the probability of head and neck injury. This survey of 182 frontal impacts suggests that when a car occupant wearing a 3 point lap-and-diagonal safety belts suffers concussion in an accident of this type, it is almost always the result of impact of the head with inside of the car.
