Samenvatting

Both seat belts for vehicle occupants and crash helmets for motorcyclists have been shown to reduce the frequency and severity of injuries to the head and face. The extent of this reduction has been aided by legislation requiring the use of seat belts or crash helmets. The possibilities and priorities for the prevention of head injury in urban traffic accidents are discussed.
