Heavy truck traffic. Forecasts and surveys.

There is a worldwide trend to move more and heavier loads per road and the economic development and activities of modern countries could hardly survive without trucks to move goods between points of supply and demand. To cope with this increase in loads on roads the responsible authorities have to plan and design adequate and appropriate infrastructure. Two tools at their disposal namely forecast models and heavy vehicle traffic counts are described here.
