Heavy vehicle driver fatigue is a safety issue. Current prescriptive approaches are not fully effective and may be inconsistent with emerging requirements under occupational health and safety legislation. Extensive background information is presented and issues which must be addressed in the policy review are discussed. (Author/publisher)
