The possibilities for control of risks in the society are increasing, but attempts to the objectiovation of the acceptance of activities, on which risks are linked, are hampered and even made impossible through the subjective element of valuation. There are big differences between the risks calculated by statistics and the valuation of the activities by the population. It is concluded that the government can not take part in a selective attention of risks. The responsibility of the government is to protect the population against real dangers and for an objective evaluation of it.
