Samenvatting

In all residential areas in old and new quarters of the town it is not desirable to completely segregate pedestrians and motorized traffic. Such solutions not only cause difficulties for all traffic related to the residential area- but are impossible for older areas of the town which are not merely residential. Also, extensive pedestrian precincts cause parking problems along the edge and therefore often cause unpleasant barriers between one quarter and another. Solutions are recommended to help pedestrian safety by a better lay out of the roads.
