Samenvatting
The behaviour of species is influenced by roads, and the dense road network in the Netherlands contributes to the fragmentation of habitats. A review is given of the existing literature on the effects of roads and traffic on the survival of amphibian and repile population. Also the effectiveness of various mitigation and compensating measures are taken into account.
