In the Second Structure Scheme on Traffic and Transport of the Ministry of Transport several alternatives are given to diminish mobility by car use. However, the main measures are based on price policy. The one-sided attention has been the reason for initiating research into other measures to decrease mobility by car use in a way that leads to a durable development of the society. The University of Utrecht has been requested to do this research of which the results are presented here. To find out whether controlling of parking in residential areas will decrease mobility by car use, an inquiry is held among workers in four residential areas.
