Samenvatting
The aim of the research was to determine the effect of existing radio-traffic-information on traffic with the ultimate intention of improving this effect. Radio-traffic-information has the aim (1) of improving traffic safety by warning drivers of dangerous situations in which a certain modification of the driving behaviour occurs and the chance of accidents decreases (2) of improving the traffic flow by warning road users of traffic congestion and unfavourable weather circumstances, as a result of which the time of departure, the selection of the transport mode and the itinerary can be changed, having therefore direct effects on traffic safety, and (3) to improve the comfort of the road user.
