Samenvatting
Results are presented of a study into the effects of the installation of traffic lights on eighteen intersections in the province of Friesland. The main purpose was to investigate if the installation improved traffic safety, in particular the number and severity of the accidents as well as the type of accidents. The number of accidents decreased and a modification was shown from collisions caused by priority failures to rear- end- collisions.
