There exists a relation between the number of travellers that will use public transport and the quality of the public transport system. When this number is known an analysis can be made how some parts of public transport, like lines and stops, are used. For this reason some computer programs (OVERPAK) are developed. The possibilities and backgrounds of these programmes are discussed.
