Samenvatting
A description is given of the development of the area, its towns and connecting roads, the construction of the Northsea-canal and its implications for road traffic. Stress is laid upon the effect of fast growing industrial activities on urbanization. Lagging behind of road-traffic facilities leads to the necessity of road-traffic research.
