A literature-review is given of the morbidity-pattern in the Netherlands. The different chapters are (1) historical development of the morbidity-pattern; (2) morbidity and history; (3) morbidity in the age 0-14 years; (4) accident-morbidity in the age of 0-14 years; (5) registration of morbidity in schoolchildren and students; (6) morbidity patterns for occupational workers, housewives; (7) morbidity patterns of the elderly people.
